Shepard Fairey mural on Ivy St. in South Park

On our way to Cafe Madeleine, we saw this cool mural on near the corner of Ivy and 30th in South Park. Nexto to a small yellow bungalow, the mural is by street artist Shepard Fairey, best known for his iconic "Hope" portrait of Obama. He also did the Obey mural on the wall of the old Corvette's in Hillcrest, seen partially in my Tapas Picasso post). This striking mural of a Burmese monk holding a parosal was completed last summer on July 2010. Both murals were part of the SD MoCa's "Viva La Revolucion" show. Love it!

Very cool, eh! We parked near the mural (unlimited parking); the spaces closer to Cafe Madeleine were the 30 minute/green zone parking. I'm glad we decided to have lunch here today. I've been wanting to see this mural since I saw it in one of the newspapers last year.
