A burger that Bert and I shared a few weeks ago...
An In-n-Out cheeseburger with grilled onions...

So good! For later, we got a couple of boxes of the Haagen-Daze ice cream bars, one chocolate dark chocolate (my choice) and one vanilla chocolate peanut butter (Bert's choice).

I wish they made the coffee almond crunch with dark chocolate coating and dark chocolate ice cream within!
I mentioned in a previous post that TC and a friend (one of my educator friends' daughter) were planning to hang out at the local mall. We ended up being the parent chaperones, but we did not "follow" the girls or anything. Instead, we parked our asses at the food court and hung out before walking around to window shop. I would call TC on her cell every 30 minutes to see how they were doing.
At the new'ish food court at Plaza Bonita, a lot has changed since my teenage years. The mall has doubled in size and it's more modern on the newer side. Bert and I wanted a snack and he saw this sign...

at Charley's Grilled Subs. We both hadn't tried anything here before and just stuck to the fries.

These were the "Ultimate" fries - fries topped with cheese, bacon and ranch dressing. Kinda messy, but good in small doses.

This was before Thanksgiving so the mall wasn't really that crowded during that week night, thank goodness! After several hours, we met up with TC and her friend so we could go out for burgers afterwards. Her friend's dad is a very good friend of mine, so we didn't mind taking her out and driving her home, plus it was an excuse for me to see their new house (ha ha). Dinner that night was at Fudd's in downtown Chula Vista.

Try as hard as I might, I always call this "something else" that starts with a B...

I wanted to use this coupon I got via email - $7 for a burger plus fries and a drink. The coupon was good for up to 6 peole and expired the day before Thanksgiving so I wanted to use it or lose it!

I saw this sign for a pumpkin pie shake and thought of all of my blogger friends who would love this (Cathy, Kirbie, and Mary)...

Speaking of drinks, they had a couple of those newfangled soda machines where it is a touch screen and you can pick whatever drink or flavor you want. I ended up getting Seagram's ginger ale but raspberry flavor.

We all got the same thing - here is the basic burger with the fries. The buns were nicely toasted (and buttered I believe)...

This was my boring burger with onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. The girls and Bert got more of the same but with pickles. Their condiments bar was pretty fresh. I ended up deconstructing my burger because I'm wierd like that.

This may not be a fancy hipster joint, but it's a reliable, tried and true restaurant. The folks here are really nice and there were a lot of local families enjoying dinner that night. Our meat patties were grilled to medium (as requested) and were pretty juicy throughout our meal.
A few weeks later, we went again because Fudd's sent me another $7 coupon, the same deal too!

This time, Bert, TC and I got to sit in the Beatles booth!!! I've always wanted to eat there but it's always been taken! But not this time!!!

The other themed booths are Elvis and the Rolling Stones, but to me, the Beatles are the best!

Here's the earliest known footage of the Beatles performing at he Cavern in Liverpool. It was an underground club and I can imagine they must have been dripping with sweat because of all the people packed in there.
I love Paul!
I thought this was a cool clip too, from 1963 where they perform "She Loves You" and "Twist and Shout" in Manchester...
It's pretty rare to see early Beatles footage in color. You might need earplugs, haha, with all those screams! No wonder the Beatles got fed up with performing to screaming audiences who didn't care about their musicianship and treated them like objects. The Beatles had so much talent unlike those so called musical acts nowadays that rely on auto-tuning their crappy voices or sampling other musicians' work instead of creating their own.
Below, our three dressed burgers.

I liked that they had cheese at the condiments stations (regular and with jalapeno). Again, a very satisfying burger and an excellent deal! Hope they send me more $7 coupons!!!

The Beatles Room kind of reminds me of the Pope Room at Bucca di Beppo haha! But not as big and not as kitschy. Still fun though! I did not know they made vanilla chocolate peanut butter haagen dazs!!@@#! Damn, I need to get me some of that. I would also totally drink that pumpkin pie shake hehe
hi mary - i've heard of the pope room! ha ha! i haven't been to Bucca di Beppo though. The thought of being in a crazy crowded place with lots of kids makes my butt cringe. is it pope john paul the II? I liked him. what a rock star he was, with his own popemobile too!
pumpkin doesn't float my boat. i'm glad it's seasonal.
