Thick cut bacon...
Fresh from the success of last night's dinner, I made another creamy pasta dish for tonight, Thin Spaghetti with mushroom cream sauce and bacon...

Now here it is with parsley...

Yessssss......

Drool...

Thin Spaghetti with Mushrooms and Bacon
Ingredients:
1 lb. of thin spaghetti
1 lb of thick cut bacon (I cut these in half)
1 small onion, chopped
5-6 garlic cloves, smashed and chopped
1 container of mushrooms, sliced
heavy whipping cream
parmesan cheese (1 cup or more)
freshly cracked black pepper
parsley (for garnish)
Directions:
- Boil the pasta in a separate pot
- Fry the bacon in a large pan
- Pour the bacon fat in a separate container and keep the bacon on a towel lined plate
- Use about 2-3 tbsp of bacon fat to saute the onions and mushrooms (yes, I used the fat!)
- Saute until onions and mushrooms are soft
- Add the garlic and saute until garlic is fragrant
- Add the heavy whipping cream
- Add the parmesan cheese
- Stir until sauce is smooth and cooked through
- Pour sauce over pasta
- Crumble or tear the bacon into pieces over the dish (I used only half of the bacon and saved the other half for extra toppings)
- Garnish with parsley

Yum, bacon! Anything is good with bacon!
i have a teacup filled with the leftover bacon fat...to be saved for future use, ha ha.
Oh yeah! I keep the leftover bacon fat in the freezer.
i should probably freeze it too or else it will go bad...
Bacon makes it better! Though I could eat them with just all of those mushrooms!
same here!
