Location of lunch was Poon Tang, I mean, Koon Thai!
Sorry about the Poon remark. Superman was on the same wavelength though, plus I already used the Kunta Kinte reference last time. Anyhoo, we all hadn't seen each other in a while so we met up for lunch...

We got there before the lunch rush and also before the parking lot got full. I notice that a lot of

I got the first item on the "Salmon Lover" menu...

I like that their water goblets are blue glass (the other was a smoky color). Supe and I both had iced coffees. Thai iced coffee tastes different from Vietnamese iced coffee. Personally, I like the condensed milk better than cream in my coffee

You know, appetizers here (all fried pretty much) are only $1.50! So, big spenders that we were, we got a order of the won tons which are filled with pork and grated carrots and served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. I like how the won tons are folded; my mom used to make hers that way. Very pretty but a lot of work (or so it seems unless you have quick and nimble fingers).

TC wasn't adventurous that day. She ordered Pad Thai with chicken. Ho-hum! This was her second time to get Pad Thai this week. This pad thai was kind of bland. Hardly any sauce.

Supe tried something different and ordered the Pad Kee Mao (which is what I got last time) with beef. He really liked the thick wide noodles.

As mentioned earlier, I got the Salmon Salad - the salad was spring mix, halved cherry tomatoes and what the menu described as seared onions and eggplant. The dressing was mayo-lime (it looked too yellow to me and tasted sweet). The eggplant was the light purple kind. They were kind of firm and not really seared tasting to me. I was hoping it would have more flavor.

The salmon itself was a pretty big piece - you can't really see it underneath the onions and eggplant. I ate about 1/3 of it and saved the rest for Bert. The food was really secondary to the company at lunch. It was nice seeing Supe again and catching up on things. He's one of our best friends and I only wish Bert could have joined us as well, but there's always next time.

See my original post here from when I had lunch with Darlene (the post also links Kirk and Kirbie's reviews).
Up next, dessert!
