This is the corner of Scranton and Mira Mesa Blvd...otherwise known as traffic hell during rush hour! CAB, TC and I were headed over to the Sorrento Food Court for dessert...
As you go up

It's a stand alone business right next to the liquor store. Bert remembers this being a sandwich shop in the not so distant past. He used to work up the hill from here.

I had a buy one get one coupon (wut? no photo? heh heh) so TC wanted frozen yogurt...

She got her usual toppings - mochi pieces, coconut jelly cubes, boba, and cherries.

There are about four different fruit flavors underneath all that froufy stuff...Yes, that is a new word that I just made up.

In addition to frozen yogurt, they offer cupcakes, as well as sweet and savory crepes, along with salads and drinks.

I ordered the Chocolate Pear crepe to share...In reality, we only took a few bites each (you'll know why in a few moments) and I took the rest home for Bert to enjoy.

Look at that filling oozing out - I liked the chocolate but the pear, not so much. It sounded better than it tasted. Bert really liked it the next day though. The chantilly cream was on the side. I thought it looked ugly on a damn styrofoam plate.

They had a special - buy 2 cupcakes and get one free so that is what CAB got.

Left to right - Passionfruit, Strawberry, and Almond.

Did we like them? Yes we fkg did. My favorite was the passionfruit, especially the frosting. The almond was all right and the strawberry was delicious. I loved how each cupcake had different treatments/toppings. Very nice!

CAB also got chocolate mousse that we sampled as well. Unfortunately it did not fit in the container for four so the girl put it in a styrofoam bowl.

This was really light and chocolatey! Winning!

CAB took the leftover cupcakes home while I brought home the crepe. If we ever go here again, I'd like to try the other cupcake flavors.
Who else went to La Crepe Fraiche?
Mary of Foodies - A Southern California Food Blog went here earlier this summer (you can see the different flavors of cupcakes she bought)
[Update - Here is CAB's post]
Official website of La Crepe Fraiche
On a related note, since we had cupcakes, here's one of my favorite scenes from the Little Rascals episode where they try to bake a cake:
My brother and sister and I used to think this was so damn funny! The episode made up want to bake a cake that made wierd noises!

Haha, the little rascals! OMG I haven't seen them in ages!
I seriously thought about going here this morning for a nutella crepe, but it's so far on the other side of Mira Mesa! One of these days. Those cupcakes are so good!
Oh I've never been here. Wow, they offer a lot of different desserts. I like how the cupcakes are decorated. I definitely need to check them out.
hi cab - haha - that's such a funny episode!
mary - it was your post that motivated us to go (that and the coupon, heheh)...their cupcakes are so cute and the texture of the cake itself is so soft...
kirbie - i'm surprised because you usually have hit up all those cupcake places! :) they don't have a wide selection of cupcakes but what they do have is pretty good!
