Pho Fusion

Returning back to my Fall Break posts, aka Coupon Adventures with TC...

We were once again back in the Convoy/Kearny Mesa area. This strip mall also has two other places I want to check out because I have a coupon, Aria Kabob Cafe and Mercury Grill.

We had a coupon for a place we'd never tried...Pho Fusion. The coupon was $5 off $15. I wanted to use that instead of the buy one get one because it it also required that you order two drinks, which I hate doing. I'll save it for next time. I figured we could get more food with the coupon I used.

I didn't want pho or bun...

But TC wanted pho, so pho she had (pho with brisket)...

I wanted one of these - the Banh Mi. I got the grilled chicken.

We got in before the massive lunch rush. The dudes working here were really nice. Once it got busy, it started to get a little frantic in there.

I ordered two types of fresh spring rolls - the regular one with shrimp and pork and another kind with shrimp paste (loved that second one). There were two rolls of each, served with a peanut sauce.

They weren't cut (insert nasty circumcision joke here); we ended up saving a roll each so Bert could enjoy it later. He was missing out.

TC's pho with brisket. I ended up eating most of her basic. She enjoyed the beansprouts but not the jalapeno.

Tasty!

She likes brisket better than tai (rare steak) because it's more tender...

Here's my grilled chicken banh mi...

I ate half of it, saving the other for, guess who...Bert. I really liked my sandwich, especially the pickled vegetables. I ended up removing that jalapeno slice later on. Didn't want, uh, problems later.

Everything that we tried was pretty good here.

By the time we left, there was a crowd at the door waiting to be seated. Looks like this was a really popular joint with all types of folks enjoying their meals, from older men to young moms and their toddlers. It was also pretty ethnically diverse which was nice to see.

Who else ate at Pho Fusion?

Kirk of Mmm-Yoso went here when in opened back in April of 2010
Michael of San Diego Food also checked it out a few months later
Darwin and Ange of Eat, Darwin, Eat! went here last year as well

Up next...dessert or not?
