Fee Tines a Mady...

"You're unce...tice...fee tines a mady..."

Unfortunately I had to delete the video link because it wouldn't play, but here's the video link that explains the reference above...(If you're an early Eddie Murphy fan, you'll get it)

Yes sirree. Three time's a charm.

How I wish there were a bakery as good as 85C back in San Diego...

We left San Diego around 7 am and got to Irvine by 8:30'ish. Lo and behold! No line at the door! Hell yeah!

This will be a quick 'n dirty post...

Tomato and cheese bread...

TC's hot dog bread...

Sliced sausages and cheese on wheat...

Tomatoes and cheese on puff pastry...So good!

Bert's Coffee Bread with red beans and mochi. He really liked this but I only liked the topping. The filling was too heavy and I'm not a fan of red beans.

This was a small Taiwanese style bun (it was only .50) - I liked the buttery flavor!

We took one bite of this soft blueberry bread and saved the rest for later...Mmmm!

OMG, this almond topped chocolate croissant was so flaky and light! We bought two more for later!

The black bun on the left was a garlic calamari bun (tinted by squid ink). Next to it was the calamari corn pastry that I bought last month during my road trip with D. It was topped with cheese and chicken. Too bad we were already full, so into the ice filled cooler it went.

I actually liked this garlicky squid ink bread! Just make sure to not have any black flecks in your teeth or gums after eating this!

The reason for this visit? It was a stop on the way up to L.A. for our mini roadtrip. Bert, TC, and I had tickets to see the Tim Burton show at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. By the time we left the bakery about an hour later, there was still no line! The time to go here is Sunday morning folks!

More to come!

Your post has me missing these breads. Okay I have to plan another trip soon. Haha. Right when they open is usually the best time to go. I've gone a few times on weekdays when I had to be in the OC for work and there wasn't much of a line either. But weekends, starting late morning all the way till late in the evening is crazy lines.
