North County Coffee Crawl Stop 2: Panels Coffee Bar and Comics (revisit)

It has been a while since we were last at Panels...

You can't beat the combination of coffee and comics...

The owners weren't there that day, but the gal working there, Marissa, was quite nice and cool.

The walls near their counter now had these framed prints. The menu was now printed.

We got a slice of this locally made Irish Cream banana bread (delicious this was)...

New drink with housemade syrup made by Marissa. The syrup was intense on its own (she let us try a sample of it) but was mellowed out in the drink. The cardamom flavor was fainter with the rose being more prominent.  We shared one drink between us since we were planning to go to two more coffee spots (yes, FOUR TOTAL that day). She actually upsized our drink, which was a surprise. She had steamed more milk than needed so she gave us the larger size. Quite unexpected but appreciated.

Bert perused some of their titles but didn't get anything that morning. I'm waiting 'til more issues of Papergirls are released.  I have a mix of single issues plus the trade compilations.

Previous visit to Panels:
September 2018 - this post also links our first visit in 2017

I saw that our route south, if we took the 5 down, was rather crappy. As in traffic jam all the way up to Encinitas.  Instead, we ended up taking a parallel road to get to our next coffee stops in Carlsbad...
