All that glitters IS Gold! New drinks from S3

Earlier today Bert and I had a morning date...

(my Troll feetz)

TC was still asleep having come home super late from Knotts Scary Farm with the senior class...

While she snoozed, we came to S3 Coffee Bar to try these new drinks which debuted today. One of TC's older friends from the dance company had previewed the drinks several weeks ago, as did Kirbie. Their pictures of the drinks were so stunningly beautiful, and well, here we are.

Their menu board is new. The last time I was here, it was a chalkboard with a robin's egg blue wooden frame. They still have their seasonal drinks written on a roll of kraft paper (the newer drinks all include my favorite, *cough cough*, not, fall ingredient, the dreaded pumpkin).

Rose Gold latte & 24k Cappuccino:

The Rose Gold latte has an almond herbal tea base with milk, rose syrup and honey, topped with dried rose petals and flecked with real 24k gold leaf and glitter.  The layers were so beautiful that I almost didn't want to mix it up.

What was great about this drink was that I could taste each flavor. I normally dislike anything floral flavored but the rose flavor was not overpowering. The almond flavor was also quite nice. The only thing I didn't like was occasionally tasting the rose petals.  This drink was $5.50. The other one was (yikes), $7.50.

Bert, being a good sport, tried the 24k Cappuccino which includes espresso, milk (no substitute) and cookie butter topped with real gold flakes and yes, glitter.  The drink had a slightly spicy and gingery taste to it due to the cookie butter. It was quite smooth and delicious. He enjoyed both of the drinks.

Mixed with those pesky rose petals that I wanted to spit out but didn't.

Love the glass here.

Yeah, this musical reference is pretty obvious..."24k Magic" by Bruno Mars, but it has that really cool old school vibe to it.

For you 80's fans, "Gold" by Spandau Ballet:

But because I like the darker stuff and wanted a video referencing the word "rose", here is "Blood and Roses" by one of my favorite bands, The Smithereens.

Not a nice looking screenshot of the lead singer's teefs

The owners and baristas here are always so nice! I'm glad they change up their special drinks menu from time to time...
