Check this out...these are (going to be) my new specs. Well, one of two pairs...They've been ordered and I'm waiting to pick them up at the optometrist's office. This pair is by Cynthia Rowley and they are purple!!! It's kind of wild, but I really liked the frame. They are similar to what I currently have, which are brown with three rhinestones in the upper corners. My brown ones don't have 'bling' on the sides. I was a bit wary of it at first, but my hair covers most of it. My other pair are by Candies and they are kind of the same shape (you can tell I have a predeliction for 'cat-eye' shapes) but are black with a trio of tiny teardrop cutouts (again, similar to my brown ones).
My district's eye plan covers a free pair + lenses (since mine's are special order, I paid the difference). I've always been frugal and only got one pair but this year, I got two (20% off the second pair/frames + special lenses). The lady who helped me said, "A woman should always have an extra pair of frames. Eyewear should be treated like an accessory; you can change your frames like you change earrings or clothes." I never thought of it that way, but I'm a creature of habit. Before my brown frames, I had these black glasses that I liked so much, I had the same pair for two years in a row. I don't really like change. So going 'brown' last year with rhinestones to boot was a jump for me. Now, it's going to be mega-purple! I hope I don't regret this purchase.

Screg and I have a Vision Plan with our district too that covers a new pair of glasses every year. I try to get a new pair at least once a year but that doesn't always happen. I've been trying to alternate with different color frames when I do get a pair. So far I have brown, blue, magenta and black. I'm not into the Cat Eye look, but want to add to my collection, purple & green.
yeah, that's what we have, VSP. i'm looking forward to my new 'sexy librarian' glasses. the cat eye shape works well with the shape of my face. i can understand why it wouldn't work on all types. my frame palette is limited. black, brown, and now purple. whoa, what a big step for me. ha ha.
when r your free days during vacation? we've got to try some new places!
Sounds good Canine; I'll let you know:)
Looking good CC, same color as my Harley
hi jack!
that's cool you have a purple harley!
Very cool, Canine! Hubby and I need some new specs too. I'm scouting around for some nice styles since if I'm going to wear glasses, I'd better like them! I think that's one of the reasons I have been leaving my glasses behind a lot...I just don't like wearing them. If I had a cool pair that I really loved, then that would be a different story! LOL!
I even thought of contacts, but I'm such a chicken...I hate thing in my eyes! LOL! I also considered getting Lasik eye surgery, but haven't really actively researched it. I figured if I didn't really actively get on top of that, then maybe I don't really want it. The only solution? Get a good/cool pair of glasses! LOL!
