This is long overdue and this is the short version...
Top 5 Restaurants
And by the way, these are by no means 5-star fancy places...just places that Bert & I enjoy frequenting on a semi-regular basis:
1) Buga - Korean BBQ place in Clairemont
2) Pho Hoacali Express - fast, cheap and tasty Vietnamese food in Mira Mesa
3) JNC Pinoy Foodmart - a mom and pop take out place and also a mini mart for Filipino food items & snacks . This is where I go if I'm too lazy to make Filipino food myself and also when I don't feel like driving down to my mom's to get the real thing. This is the next best thing!
4) Kemo Sabe - Southwest & Asian fusion place in Hillcrest
5) Yokozuna's - Islander place in Chula Vista

Hi CC - I've had some good stuff from JNC...a friend of mine is related to the Owners...they keep telling us to try the Grilled Bagus!
Sorry, I forgot, some of the stuff you saw from out potluck was from there.....
I like all restaurants with exception to Yokozuna's. To me their food is just okay.
hi kirkk - no wonder that food looked familiar! ha ha! i think every Filipino family in Chula Vista orders their food either from JNC or Lola's grill on Telegraph (formerly Toto's). Not much of a bangus fan - too many bones!
hi HF! Yokozuna's isn't the bomb or anything, but it's closeby and convenient. hey, our work vacation is coming up - you up for lunches on Fridays again?
Canine, now that I've transferred over to that other college I no longer have Friday's off; sorry:)
HF
Will you have any days off on the weekdays?
Nope, unfortunately all of my weekdays are workdays, sorry:(
By the way in my previous response I meant to give you the un-happy face, but gave you the smiley one instead, my mistake.
oh, i didn't even notice it!
