As you can see by the coupon expiry date, this was awhile ago, ha ha.
This is a cute bakery over in Santee, family run and owned. We used the coupon to get a few mini tarts (raspberry and apricot filled)...

Bert and I had gone to Arely as well in this mall...
We had dinner at Lightin' Jack's (using a coupon) and boy did it suck, thus no post for that, but a post for this bakery, which we did like. Look at that selection!
This was an almond and raspberry filled pastry which was quite decadent.
We also chose a Florentine to enjoy for later...
At work, we celebrated a colleague's birthday. Mr. TJ was the secret b-day pal and had his neighbor, a baker on the side, made this lovely lemon coconut cake.
There was another time where our department entertained a vendor. He happened to bring some homemade goodies. Gosh, how often does that happen? This was his version of Orange and cranberry brioche which we all enjoyed. The bread was so buttery and fluffy and the cranberries added a nice texture to the orange flavored bread.

Earlier this year, Mexico Lindo Bakery reopened on the SW corner of Broadway and E. They used to be in the stripmall on Broadway and H. I was so happy they reopened. As you can see by the window paintings, it was the holidays. Th "Feliz Dia de Reyes" refers to the Three Kings, the day is celebrated on January 6 and is also known as Epiphany.
The little treats I got that day (florentine, chocolate dipped walnut and nut meringue). I think my total was less than $4. Take that hipster bakeries.
