and taking photos of The Wing, a local landmark (post is forthcoming)....
I wanted to try out the new Thai place on 13th and Imperial Beach Ave. Anything east of 13th is considered San Diego (zip code 92154) and west, it is considered IB. Also, Coronado Ave, the nearest cross street is only east of 13th; west, it it called Imperial Beach Ave. There is a tiny strip mall there which has a mariscos shop, a party supplies store, and a tobacco shop. On the corner is a new Thai place which replaced a former Chinese joint.

They are open at 10 am, which is pretty early for a place that doesn't serve breakfast. That was fine by me. I wanted to pick up some items so Bert and I could have lunch at home later.

Their menu is standard Americanized Thai. There are rice dishes, curry, noodles and surprisingly, larb. I didn't expect to see that here.
I chose drunken noodles with shrimp, pork larb and papaya salad.

All dishes were served in a pie tin with a cover. Everything smelled so good and fresh. The larb was $9. Everything was under $10. The shrimp in the papaya salad were plump, not the dried kind.

Good for a first visit. Service was very friendly and also quick here. The lady helping me was really nice too as well as the man who was cleaning up when I walked in. Hope this place does well.
