L.A. Creamery - Glendale

Located near the Glendale Galleria was another mall complex called The Americana at Brand,

which was a sprawled out master planned community and high end soul-less shopping complex. This is where this boujie/artisanal ice cream place was located...

LA Creamery sources their cream from Straus Family Farms Organic Dairy so that will please all those out there who want the high-falutin' good stuff, right. Ice cream with a pedigree I suppose. All natural ingredients, no preservatives, and you know the routine.

They have a variety of flavors, from the usual suspects of vanilla, chocolate and so on but with a twist. Chocolate with Chili, Milk Chocolate with Guinness (sadly, that flavor was not there that day), or Chai Tea Latte. The flavors are pretty tame compared to Humphry Slocumbe in San Francisco's Mission District.

We splurged on two scoops each...At the top was TC's cup with Chocolate Hazelnut and Strawberry sorbet. At 7 o'clock was Bert's Boozy Breakfast (vanilla with cereal and some sort of rum) paired with Milk Chocolate Crunch. Mine was the Chocolate with Chili (it really had a kick) and the Tennessee Whiskey. Now that was an interesting combination there.

The whiskey was pretty strong and I couldn't really stomach too much of it so Bert and I traded off.

Lots of well-heeled business folk around here (not pictured of course). With all these fancy stores around us, we felt like poor relatives from the ghetto coming to visit the big city. All kidding aside, the scoops were pretty generous and the selection of flavors were not so wild that you'd regret your choice like I did at Humphry Slocumbe (My Szechuan Strawberry and Thane's Jesus Juice!). The flavors were intense and creamy but not creamy yucky like Tara's Organic Ice Cream in Berkeley. That was cream overload, I tell you.

As we pounded the pavement back to our car, parked several blocks away in the never-neverland of a parking garage, we passed by this incredible waste of money store for spoiled kids, Rolling Robot. Have you seen those Build-A-Bear Teddy Bear places at the mall where kids go in and they pick out a stuffed animal, put a fake heart in it, stuff it with stuffing and buy all sorts of clothing and accessories for a fkg stuffed animal? Well, it seems that Rolling Robot is similar except it is Robots and most likely caters to boys who really aren't into cute cuddly stuffed animals and dressing them up and shit. Yeah, just walk on by.

There is a trolley that runs on tracks all over the complex. We saw this one emerge from a nearby parking garage and make a stop in front of a restaurant.
