Float on...float on...

I'm just all over the place today...

It's so much easier doing "mini posts". Well, last night was another Chocolate Beer Float Night...

as decreed by Bert of course. Over the summer I bought all these different kinds of Chocolate beers. This was was Bison Chocolate Stout.

Bison is a brewery local to Ukiah in Northern California.  I bought this at the Andronico's in Berkeley along with Drake's Draconic Stout, which we still haven't opened and are saving for another Beer Float day. *"Corpse Bride" is the movie in the background...

You know the routine. One or two scoops of chocolate ice cream in a beer mug.

Pour the chocolate stout and enjoy!

With all of the different Chocolate Stouts/Ales we've tried, we still like Rogue's the best (from Portland). The Bison was a little "thin" in texture and while the flavor was there, it just wasn't as "rich" tasting as Rogue's. The percentage of alcohol was only 5% as well. Not like the whopping 9% for Airedale's Imperial Stout (the "Dark and Stormy"), which is one of Bert's faves.

This short tutorial vid is local - Stone Brewing Company of Escondido (makers of Arrogant Bastard Ale)!

I liked how he used Niederfrank's ice cream (vanilla though, not chocolate), which is also local to San Diego (National City to be exact). He poured the beer first . We did the opposite. Oh well, we like the foaminess of the beer over the ice cream!

Still waiting to be consumed:
Drake's Draconic Imperial Stout (from San Leandro)
Young's Double Chocolate Stout (from England and from the bottle, not the can!)
and also from the U.K., St. Peter's Cream Stout
