I'm finally posting these photos from a couple of weeks ago. The annual Super Bowl Sunday bash was at Lotus and Thor's. A small group of us attended, our family, one of Lotus's childhood friends and her 2 year old daughter, plus Mr. Saliva, and Mulysa and "Imeldo" (Lotus' nickname for him from a previous blog). Even though I personally don't care about football, I always look forward to this event because the food is always so good, courtesy of Lotus. Here are the crackers with cream cheese and hot pepper jelly. You can see a bit of the bowl (one of two) of potato chips. Yes, junk food. Good. Better with sour cream and onion dip.

Of course, there was also the healthy tray of cut up veggies:

Chips, dips, chains and whips. Maybe some candle wax on the nipples ("Wierd Science" quote). The chips , sour cream and onion dip (love that cool bowl):

The main protein was roasted turkey which was to be shredded and eaten with an assortment of buns. Just look at that stuffing oozing out:

The neck, gizzards, heart and other parts.

The makings of gravy:

Lotus's stuffing:

One of the biggest jars of kimchee I have ever seen:

This was great with the turkey - cranberry mayo. Lotus put canned cranberries and mixed it with a mix of lite and regular mayo.

The gravy....I could just drink this straight!

The bun assortment: wheat, potatoe, whole grain and onion. I liked the onion the best.

Fixings for the turkey sandwich:

One of our offerings - the potato salad, courtesy of Costco. The other item we brought was Smoky Corn Chowder. I didn't post the photo here because I'll be posting that on my food blog, J'ai Faim.

The flash makes these truffles look really washed out. These are dark chocolate truffles dusted with cocoa powder from Trader Joe's. According to Lotus, what makes these truffles so creamy and smooth is vegetable oil.

The piece de resistance, Lotus's Lemon Pound cake with lemon glaze. This was delicious, but I was so full by the time I had it, I could only manage a few tiny bites. Baby S on the other hand, loved it. I fed her a tiny spoon of the cake. So fun! I haven't fed a baby since TC was still a baby.
I don't remember much about the Super Bowl. The action picked up towards the end - the last two minutes. The commercials weren't that great either. I only liked the Will Ferrel beer commerical at the end and the Carlos Mencia commercial where he's teaching foreigners how to pick up chicks using their accents. Yeah, very politically correct.
Wah wah Patriots. 18 - 1. No Super Bowl ring for Junior Seau. He deserves jack shite for leaving San Diego.
