We wanted to see an iconic statue that was near the Portland Museum of Art...
But of all damn things, the Portlandia statue was covered up for repairs.
It's supposed to look like this:

"Portlandis" is the 2nd largest copper statue in the United States, after the Statue of Liberty in New York. The building itself is designed by Michael Graves.
Ah well...next time, I guess?
Nearby was a theater with a cool marquee and neon signage that had seen better days, the Guild. It was boarded up at the time. According to an articles from last summer, Kinokuniya, a Japanese bookstore chain is supposed to open up in that space.
Of course, there was Powell's City of Books. We'd been there many times in our previous two visits. We didn't stop by this time...
You can seriously get lost in here. They even have maps for this store!

Guild Theater
