Our next stop of the day after having had lunch at Nick's ...

was this coffee house specializing in coffee and drinks from Southeast Asia. It is also next to a popular brunch spot, The Screen Door (which was mocked in an older Portlandia episode)
Kopi means "coffee" in Malay...

Their menu reflected the many interesting coffees (single origin) from SE Asia...

as well as different styles of coffee and flavors and add ons (tea included)...

Their decor was beautiful. There was even a "hidden" sunken back room.

The gentleman preparing our order was very patient and knowledgeable...he took the time to explain each drink which I appreciated. Plus no one was behind us, so no guilty feeling of taking up the barista's time.

Again, lovely decor. Look at those columns, frames, and artwork.

Our drinks were served on a beautiful wooden tray.

Bert had a pourover from Bali. It was smooth and strong.

I had a lemongrass infused coffee with condensed milk. Here it is intact, prior to mixing, so you can still see the layers. I believe my coffee was brewed through a filter than poured on top of the condensed milk, so it took some time getting it but it was worth it.

And...mixed.

The lemongrass scent was faint but discernible. It was lovely sipping on this...it had a floral citrus flavor which went well with the strong espresso and the condensed milk.

So, Nick's was just a small prelude. We would have another snack at a newer iteration of Pok Pok (which, sadly, writing this now post Mid-March/Pandemic in full effect), is now closed as of this Spring)
