Pata Negra Market
Right next door to Costa Brava is a little market specializing in Spanish food, Pata Negra:
It's small, but airy inside. There is a refrigerated meat case on the left. The shelves are a bit sparse. The fixture in the middle had sweets (chocolate bananas from the Canary Islands!) and the one nxt to it had canned seafood items.

This leg was $220!
Various Spanish cheeses - I'm a new fan of Manchego!
This is a display shelf near the door with canned items like beans, various spice (mainly paprika), paella mix:
I wonder what this tastes like. What is marine sauce?
I should have bought this - I love squid!
Mussels:
Tuna:
Squid ink for the occasions when you want to make "black rice". Sometimes, if my mom is lucky to get squid with its ink sacs intact, she makes squid adobo in its own ink.
I got a tin of the smoked paprika - can't wait to use it:
Paella pans of all sizes:
There were also Spanish cookies, wines, sherries, cans of olives, and bottles of olive oil. Lots of pricy imported items here. The young lady working there was very nice and seemed apologetic that the store didn't really have too many items and that they were ordering more stuff soon. It's a cute little shop that one should visit after lunch at Costa Brava. I just bought the smoked paprika, a few mini cookies, a tiny container of saffron (for when I make paella in the far far future!), and a pack of the squid ink.

I really like this little store. They have a nice selection of paella pans. I plan on picking one up sometime soon. I would rather give them my business than Great News across the street. That cooking store is great (no pun intended), but they make plenty of money as it is.
Great News is a pretty expensive cookware store. I remember going there just to check out their Pasta Holders.
I was looking for one in particular that I saw at Big Lots and should have gotten it when I saw it at the time because when I returned to Big Lots it was gone.
I liked this Pasta Holder because it was different and unusual. It was a see through-arcrylic material with ridges and a clear, see through glass green color with a gold clasp on the top.
I liked this Pasta Holder so much that I also visited other Big Lot stores to see if they would have it and 'No Such Luck!' Well as they, "When their gone, there gone!"
yes,i'd rather give my business to a mom and pop type store than to the big corporate whores.
