We are hardly ever up in this area, and I remembered Mary's post from last year...

It was finally time to pay a visit to The King's Craft Coffee...
Poway may as well be never never land for us. It's just so far! But after having had our coffees today, I think the folks who live out here are pretty lucky to have a nice coffee shop like this. Same can't be said for the South Bay.

I'm assuming that "King" and the crown of thorns on their logo is a Biblical reference.
The coffee shop is right next to a soccer park, which has its own parking lot. We were lucky to find a space in the lot. I can imagine how crowded it would be if games were happening.

Their smaller sized drinks were the espresso and cortado. Everything else was 8 oz and up.

Even though we specified for 'here', for whatever reason, Bert's mocha was served in a damn paper cup. We hate that but didn't want them to have to do it over.

The blueberry scone was pretty big and on the dry side but Bert seemed to like it. I asked if they were still offering the cold brew flight (the same that Mary had); the guy working the counter said they did not but would be glad to make it for me, which I thought was nice. Looking back, I don't think this was ever on their menu, but perhaps something special offered to Mary during their soft opening.
This was A LOT of coffee - four 8 oz glasses! The first two were on Nitro, the other two were not.

The last two were darker roasts and had deeper flavors. I liked those more. The Ethiopa was fruity and bright; the Costa Rica was a bit more earthy but lighter in taste than the Honduras and Burunda which tasted almost like chocolate.

Great design in here...they have a cool flat waterfall thing against one of their walls as well (can be seen in Mary's post, linked at the end).

There's a place to sit outside as well...Calm and relaxing, both inside and outside.

The owner, Corey Winthrow, was a really nice guy, who took the time to talk to us about the different roasts; he even asked us later what our opinion was on the drinks. We thought that was a nice touch and great customer service.

The coffee here was well made and we liked their offerings. In terms of food, since we only had the scone, can't attest to anything else. They did offer sandwiches but no savory pastries, only sweet. We liked the variety of seating inside and outside of the coffee shop. It's a cute place that offers legit drinks. If we are ever up in this part of town again, we would definitely do a revisit.

Oh cool, you visited! Yeah, the cold brew flight was made special for me (I felt special, and also later, jittery, haha). That's nice that they made one for you, though! Woo, good customer service! I remember the sandwiches are really good here. We came back another time only to find out the sandwiches had sold out already. Sigh. Good cold brew though, great choices.
Yeah, this place is far for us. If TC didn't have that sports event nearby we wouldn't have gone. Their customer service is A-1 here! Nice folks! I couldn't finish all of that cold brew either. We took one of the glasses in a to-go cup.
