Return to Tao & Mariposa with TORC & D

[These outings happened sometime in October; the pix are just combo'd]

I don't remember the exact day but it was around the time "Nowhere Boy" debuted at the Landmark Theatres. TORC and I had a free ticket to burn (we got it when we watched "The Runaways" back in March). I was torn between watching "Nowhere Boy" (a movie starring the guy who was in "Kick Ass"; it's about the early days of John Lennon as a teenager up to the early Beatles years) and the educational documentary, "Waiting for Superman". TORC and I ended up watching the educational flick. We'll have to catch "Nowhere Boy" when it comes out on DVD.

Before the movie, we had lunch at Tao (where I'd already eaten twice already)...It's fairly closeby and I wanted the noodles again!

This is from my lunch with Divalious who got the house made soy milk...

Both TORC and D got the Lemongrass chicken with both the white rice and brown rice (although it looked reddish). This is the same dish the Bert had as well. So far, all three loved this dish.

The day I had lunch with TORC, I got the Nabeyaki soba with tempura shrimp. Unfortunately the batter on the shrimp was too thick and crunchy but I still liked the shrimpy head! I liked all the stuff in the soup (fish cake, vegetables, egg)...Perfect for a cold day like that day...

During my lunch outing with TORC, I got the Garlic fish with sweet chili sauce. I also got the half white rice and brown/red rice. So good! Loved the sauce with the fish. Had a kick to it...

The graffitied wall on the West side of the resto. Liked the comment, "Not better than sex, but awesome afterward!" Ha ha!

Complimentary dessert was ice cream with fruit. This was the chocolate mint...

After TORC and I watched the movie, which pissed us off as educators and frustrated us to some degree, we headed back to Normal Heights for ice cream at Mariposa. I believe this was TORC's - Mexican Chocolate with some other flavor? Gosh, I don't even remember anymore!

I got the Chocolate Malt and the Raspberry Cheesecake...so good! I need to try all of their flavors!!! Storebought ice cream may be more accessible but it's a really poor substitute for the homemade creamy taste of their ice cream.

Song that's running through my mind, "William It Was Really Nothing" by the Smiths. I have "The Singles" (the Smiths compilation) in my car CD player.

Been on a Smiths kick lately...even my daughter knows the words to all the songs on this CD! Funny!
She thinks it's hilarious when Morrissey's voice flies into a falsetto...

"Williammmm, Williaaaaaam!"

I'm a huge Smith's / Morrissey fan and that Spanish cover is hysterical!! Only Europeans can make those faces while singing...hahaha.
