More pix from the Philippine Faire...Lots of political booths beause of the upcomign elections on June 8th...I saw Bob Filner at his booth.
There were other booths promoting businesses, t-shirt companies, long distance telephone carriers, health services, the 2010 census and so on. This particular booth had Philippine decorations. They had a sign stating that the items weren't on sale and shouldn't be taken from the tables!
Collection of Philippine dolls...
Dolls in tribal dress...
Dolls in clothing that reflect that Spanish colonial influence...
Hey, I have this cookbook!
The owner of this booth was selling Mexican themed shirts. Let's just say he didn't really do good business with that at this faire. However, he was also selling toys, doing brisk business with this bubble blowing guns. He also had these really cool die cast vintage cars/low-riders...
More of the cars here...
We took the 54 to get back to the 805. Did you know the stretch of Highway 54 from the 5 to the 805 is known as the Filipino American Highway? More info on that here!
More ethnic food in upcoming posts!
