A couple of weeks ago, we were in the Old Town area. Bert had taken in my wedding ring to get it fixed. Fixed you say? That shit was downright broken. I'm lucky the diamond didn't fall out. I only have a wedding band but it's pretty nice. I didn't want a separate engagement ring and wedding band, so it's two in one - it's got channel set diamonds flanking the diamond in the middle. There used to be SIX prongs, but over the years (14 to be exact), three have worn down. The prongs that remained were also worn down - so much so that they barely hugged the top of the stone. The remaining three were totally and completely stripped. So, Bert brought it to the diamond place in Old Town and the prongs were redone and ready within that week. It was wierd for me being without a ring; my finger felt naked.
The weather was quite warm and since it was a weekend, parking was really bad and of course, there were tourists galore. We parked past Acapulco Restaurant on Juan Street...Nice hill walking we did. Anyhow, because I like to kill two birds with one stone, I brought out the trusty old coupon book. What places would we eat at in Old Town? There were several choices, but we ended up here...Rancho la Lena, down a few steps away from El Campo Santo cemetery (that will be a separate post - I just had chills typing that...More on Rancho la Lena here and on the cemetery here, here, and here.
"The server came and brought us our drinks and some bread. As I was eating a piece of the bread (which was yummy), it felt like someone hit my hand or was messing with me. The piece of bread flew out of my hand and made a complete circle and then landed on the table. I looked at my friend and she was shocked. We both knew that something strange had just happened!
After we ate my friend asked the server if this place was haunted. He said actually they believed that it was. He left and the owner came and asked us what happened. We explained the story of the bread flying out of my hand. He said that there were a few ghosts that lived there. He said the kitchen was a brothel and the dining area was a pharmacy. Both building were moved there from downtown in the 40s. He said one of the ghosts was a woman and the other a child. He believed that the child was the one playing around with me. He said that they were harmless. As we were leaving and passing the patio area I felt really strange and I got goose bumps all over."

OMG! SHUT UP!!! Seriously?!?! I *was* going to comment on how I've got a craving for Mexican food, but when I read the last part of this post, I got goosebumps all over!
You freak me out! That was pretty scary!! Gah!
P.S. You watched Episode 12 tonight, right?? All I can say is...I want me some more True Blood, asap!! I am so addicted to the show. I watched both seasons in two weeks on surfthechannel.com! LOL!
hi c - actually no, i have not watched the last episode yet...i'll be watching that tomorrow - surf the channel.com baby! ha ha. plus, since i'm a sucker for spoilers, i'll be listening to the talk blood podcast tomorrow (2 hours)...
about that creole restaurant - when we passed by it, i was thinking, oh my gosh, right in the shadow of the whaley house...brrr...
and that cemetery...i'm glad there were no apparitions or "orbs" (ha ha, remember those?) in my photos!!! there's a guy who was hung in the back yard of the whaley house...his grave is in El Campo Santo cemetery. Good ole Yankee Jim.
i should be sleepign now, but i'm not...it's 10 pm'ish...
your daughter has "happy eyes". :)
Hey CC, How are you? You are so funny girl. My son and I actually went to the grave of Ol Yankee Jim and took a flower off of it. YIKES!!! will tell ya the creepy stories of that one another time. You crack me up. Say "hey" to Bert.

Michael
Sooooooooo...What did you think??? :) You saw it, right?
Sookie still annoys me. LOL! ;)
hi michael - thanks for stopping by! nice to hear from you! and thanks for appreciating my twisted sense of humor...
OMFG - did Yankee Jim "visit" you in your dreams? you stole something from a grave? dude...
you have to email me what happened!
hi c - okay, i have not watched the finale yet. this is what's happening - Bert ordered HBO just for this month - so now he's recording all the episodes "On Demand" - all the episodes will go on a master DVD (or sets of dvd's). it's $15 for one month of HBO & Showtime. After we're done dvr'ing all the shows we want, that's it...
so...because i'm a sucker for spoilers, i've been reading the fan blogs - i've also listened to the podcasts about the final episode (Last Bite and Loving TB in Dallas)...i'm showing some restraint actually by waiting to have Bert record it so I can watch it unsullied...
put it this way, i know mary ann dies and so does eggs! good riddance! i hear that there's only 2 minutes of eric. major disappointment. there better be more of him in season 3 - which follows book 3 (loosely, i'm sure), "Club Dead". Here's a few words to get you going C...
Eric. Pink Spandex.
Do you think Eric and Sookie are going to get together?? I know Bill annoys the hell out of you, but there's something in me that makes me want him and Sookie to have their happily ever after together. LOL! I know...he's a vampire and she's a human (but she's a telepath!)...and it's just a TV show.
Yay for Bert getting HBO! There are soooo many good shows on HBO!
I don't watch much TV, but you seriously got me hooked on True Blood! My husband was laughing, because you seem to get me hooked on a lot of things! Either you're very good at getting people hooked or I'm very impressionable! Or both! LOL! ;)
Wait a minute! Eric. Pink Spandex? Wuuuuuuh??
OMG! *drool* I just Googled "Eric Pink Spandex" and...WOW!
You are sooooo bad! ;)
hi c - okay i'll be watching the season finale tonight...bert finally finished dvr'ing all the episodes for season 2...
what i'm looking for in season 3 - the WEREWOLVES! especially Alcide Herveaux...
and of course, Eric in Pink Spandex.
He also has to pretend he's gay when he and Sookie go to "Club Dead"...
Another thing to look forward to in Season 3 (and she's also in book 3) is the mean and vicious Debbie Pelt.
As for Eric and Sookie, I hope they get together, but that will be book 4...oops, spoiler!!!
Am I a bad influence on you?
