The Big 4-Oh!

On of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies. Ever.

Actually no one forgot my birthday, but I just had to put this scene in! Who doesn't LOVE Molly Ringwald?

This song was also in "Sixteen Candles" and is by Scottish new wave band Altered Images:

Here's one of my fave birthday songs as well by the inimitable Mancunian mope group, The Smiths, featuring Morrissey:

And lastly, one of my fave songs by alt rock band The Sugarcubes, featuring their quirky and elfin lead singer Bjork. This is the Icelandic version of their song, "Birthday" which came out the year I graduated high school, 1987.

My daughter gave me two lovely framed pencil drawings that she secretly worked on in Art class. One is a still life of flowers in a vase and the other is a seascape. my husband gave me a 120g iPod. Yes, I have officially crossed over to the Dark Side. I can't wait to put all my music on it!

Trivia - I share the same birthday as Rick "the Ricker" Schroeder (of "Silver Spoons" fame, FK that NYPD show!) and Tony "Wally" Dow (aka the "Beav's" brother!). Lucky me, huh!
