Sleep is good

Sleep is good

Had a very nice 12 hour nap yesterday. I only had less than 2 hours sleep the night before. Perhaps it was the iced Vietnamese coffee (cafe sua da) I had Thursday for lunch. Whatever it was, I was a total insomniac. I felt like I was running on fumes yesterday.

After Bert Wolfe came home from work, I crashed in bed at 5, then woke up again at 10:30 pm, then back to sleep, then up at 7 am this morning. According to Bert Wolfe, the child was worried about me last night because I didn't eat dinner.

Saw the historic 92-year old Hotel San Diego get imploded live on TV at 8:05 a.m. This is the hotel downtown that's across from where you do jury duty (Hall of Justice). It was also featured in the movie 'Traffic' (as was the Hall of Justice). During the filming of 'Traffic', the hotel was already condemned. The interiors were used as rooms for the interrogation scenes in the movie. Now that the hotel's a pile of rubble, the city will build a brand new 22-floor federal building.

Spent my bday with the child and Bert (lunch at Pho Ha Calli in Mira Mesa). I ate a light lunch since we were going to Corvette's in Hillcrest for dinner with my siblings and their kids. I wanted to get what I always get at Corvette's, the Dion burger, which is a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, swiss cheese and mushrooms. I also had a chocolate mint shake, which was pretty damn good. My brother had the (disgusting) Rory burger which has peanut butter on it. My sis ordered a foot long hot dog with cheese. It was supposed to have chili on it, but she wanted it nearly plain. It looked pretty gross for obvious reasons.

Although Corvette's wasn't a place I would normally go to, I chose it because it was kid friendly. The child and her cousins enjoyed the oldies music, the flashy decorations and the plethora of straws that the waitresses throw on the table. Best of all, they enjoyed the shower of Bazooka bubble gum pieces that our waitress threw at us at the end of the meal.

Have begun reading Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice'. Just saw the movie version a few days ago (with Keira Knightley--she's so cute!), although I did enjoy the longer BBC version (circa 1995 I believe) more. The latter version featured Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy and that is the version that inspired his casting (as Mr. Darcy no less!) in the movie 'Bridget Jones' Diary', which was loosely based on 'Pride and Prejudice'. I guess those English chicks think he's hot stuff, but to each their own. I have the complete works of Jane Austen but my lazy ass never got around to reading it, other than Cliffs notes in high school.

I wonder if Ronin and HotFudge are back yet from their trip to Italy...

Eggs were boiled yesterday afternoon, but decorated at night (while I slept) by the child and Bert. Must fill up the plastic eggs tonight while she is sleeping and hide them around the house.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter!

well happy bday again canine!!!

it's been at least a decade since i've eaten at corvettes. used to go there all the time in high school. never understood the rory burger. tried it. still didn't get it.

i think the chicks dug colin firth cuz of a scene where we walks out of a lake with his shirt on??? listened to a fresh air interview with him sometime ago. seemed like he was THE BIG THING in England and was somewhat flabbergasted and semi-embarrased / bored with talking about being a sex symbol.

then again, i'm a hugh grant guy. always was. always will be.

thanx superman.

uh, the wet white shirt scene was so gratuitous. all slo-mo and everything. yes, he does jump in a lake and emerges all adonis-like.

he could be wearing a keanu reeves mask and I still wouldn't think he was hot... did you know he was in 'valmont'? anyhoo.

bert wolfe hates hugh grant, as do most men. oops, wait, you don't. but i do like it when hugh plays against type. no more nice guys!

Okay, when you're logged on blogger, go to your blog, click on comments, then you'll see a little trach can next to the comment, click on it and it'll let you delete it.

I've not been crazy about Hugh Grant. I always like him more than I think I will.

OMG! Did you just say that someone was "Cute"? I don't think I've ever heard that word come out of your mouth. Interesting, you have an alternate personality in the blogosphere...

caninecologne said...

'cute'? i meant to say 'hott'!

thanx for the tips on deleting comments. i know i had asked you a few days ago on the phone when i asked u to delete my comment, but retarded me didn't remember...it's too complicated...okay, i'm gonna try it.

1)Login to Blogger

2)Click on your blog or just view it in some way.

3)Go to the post with the comment you want to delete

4)Click on the comments (just like when you want to see what people have commented

5)Once in the comments section (like you should be right now) you should see a little trash can below each comment. Click on it under the specific comment you want to delete.

6)Voila! If no voila, ask Bert

you two kill me!

coudln't have just walked through it over the phone?!

just for that, i'm gonna post this comment thrice!

yay! you can practice deleting my comments!!

you know, i once took an all day class seminar thingy and at the end of the day we took an exam for licensing... the teacher said that one of the (unfortunately) best ways to learn something really quick was to be traumatized into learning it...

perhaps we all should start saying ALL kinds of inappropriate things, and in desparation to remove the comments, you will learn and probably forever remember to delete comments on your blog!

i'm too damn lazy to figure this shit out.

i'm an official extra chomosomal person.

sorry...

Happy belated, Canine...

HotFudge and I spent Easter on 3 separate planes getting back home. Details to be doled out slowly on my blog.

Sleep is excellent, but I'm still screwed up with jet lag. We returned home Sunday night-Monday morning after midnight. Spent some time going thru mail, looking for bills. Went to bed approx 2:00am. Woke up around 7:00am. Ran some errands. Fell asleep approx 4:30pm. Woke up approx 9:30pm. Didn't get to bed until approx. 3:00am Tues morn. And here I am Wed morning 12:53am...

Corvette's. BLAH... I'll go if the majority want to go, but I've never been too impressed with the food. And whenever HotFudge and I are trying to decide where to eat, Corvette's rarely, if ever, comes up...

Strange that you are having trouble deleting your comments. I recall an episode on Lotus' blog where I had accidentally posted my comment 8-9 times. I thought my computer had froze, so I kept clicking the "publish" button. Then, when I left her website and returned, turns out I'd published several times. I cleaned up some of it, and Lotus did the rest.

Has Burt looked at it yet?

hi ronin

by the way i just leearned to delete comments courtesy of bert.

turns out that lotus' directions did not say to login twice. you have to log on blogger. i did that. but once on the blog, you have to log in AGAIN to see the infernal trashcans. so, i have a new wrinkle on my cortex, although unwillingly. so bert says you should have said go to your blog then go to comments then log on then click on the trash can of the comment you want to delete. my brazil nut (larger than a walnut) sized brain was following your directions pedantically but was frustrated that it wasn't working. wife is happy now.

i deleted mulysa's posts twice.

i always appreciate your comments!
welcome back from the land of pasta. we got your postcard yesterday. i liked how you spelled 'canign' like 'benign' or 'malign'.

hey, if i really wanted to enjoy my food, i would have picked a more sophisticated venue, but when you have 5 children with you, i wanted to make the kids happy (i believe that's called 'altruism') and sacrifice my selfish desires for the young 'uns. never again! kidding. actually not...well...anyways...they liked the food and the bazooka gum and the loud music and all. most of the places bert and i like to eat are not kid friendly and that's usually by design. not that we don't like having TC with us, but sometimes you just want to have some peace and quiet and enjoy a good meal that doesn't need ketchup or extra cheese to enhance it's flavor. oh yeah, and the sound of other f---kin' bratty kids screaming and whining and shit is also a factor when choosing places to eat.

looking forward to reading your blog. i liked the picture of the bidet. hey, bert's sister and her husband moved into a new house last year and they are installing a bidet in their master bathroom. hmmm...perhaps bert will try it. i'm too squeamish to have water shooting up my anus. not that he's not, but i think he's game. wait a minute, he's here next to me and says he would definitely try it. "damn straight" he says...yeah, straight up the cornholio!

the deleted post before this post was done because i put ronin's real name so then i felt compelled to utilize my husband's computer talents. he's so patient with me.

by the way, ACE YOUNG was finally kicked off Idol!!! although it should have been that dumbf--k blonde hillbilly, Kelly Pickler. she sucked balls (so does he, ha ha) but she probably has a bigger fan base who called in for her. Anyhoo, no more seeing this guy stare like a child molester in the camera, touch his greasy hair, rub his stomach, whine like a Backstreet Boy and sing with a pained expression as if being buttrammed.

yay, i know how to delete. i have the power now.
