These photos were taken AFTER I got home. There's no rule against this, is there????! Ha. Anyways, you can see they have their own brand "Fresh & Easy" and I bought quite a few items of their brand: A frozen Indian Chicken (Methi Malai?) dinner, a dark chocolate and ginger bar, a 4-pack of Mango & Acai nectar, and 2% milk.

Fresh & Easy
Okay, here's a photo of the EXTERIOR of Fresh and Easy. I took this a few days before their grand opening on Friday, November 16th.
But wait, there's more! A 10-pack of hash browns ($1.65), carrots, string cheese (for TC's lunch snacks and mine) and lasagna. I didn't like that their produce was packaged like Trader Joe's. They are already in packages which to me, seems wasteful. Take, for example the carrots below. They are in a sealed plastic bag, not the ones that are closed with a plastic tie. That kinds of bugs me. I don't like getting my fruit pre-packaged - I liked choosing it myself. Hence, I did not buy fruit that day.
I also bought a small jar of Fig Spread ($4.65) from Croatia! Plus, ready made potato wedges (they were a bit spicy, but too mealy for me), Pistachio trail mix (Bert really liked this!), and a very cute and tiny wheel of Brie for only $2.00-something. I ended up using the Figgy spread on crackers with Brie and leftover prosciutto. Mmmmm!
I'm actually writing this post on Sunday, November 25 and have since gone back for more items. Bert also went there earlier tonight to get some last minute cans of garbanzo beans so I could make hummus for him. He ended up looking through every aisle also and got more than just the beans.

Wow! Very cool finds!
That's a great price for Brie! I LOVE Brie and Camembert!
PS. Cool tunes! I don't usually have the speakers on, so the music kind of scared the crap out of me when I perused your blog and all of a sudden the music was blaring. LOL!
So I think I will look out for when one opens near me, it is reminiscent of the old tesco that I know and love, maybe without the totally british products but they do look like they do nice stuff. Thanks for letting me know by the way!!
hi c!
yes, i liked a lot of the "unique" items...gourmet quality but at a very good price. the brie was so tiny, perfect for snacking (cut into small wedges). not those huge slabs that I can never finish.
sorry! if the music bothers you, you can click on the "stop" button on the boombox. they really do work!
jennywenny - you're welcome! have you ever gone to shakespeare corner shop in midtown? they have imported British items (some are pricey though!). this store does have a lot of nice items and i can see the appeal for those who are in a hurry and need a quick but healthy meal to heat up at home. i heard the next location is up in vista but am not sure when that is opening. i liked your last post on pecan pie. i think i'll try that recipe for the holidays.
LOL! No, no...I LOVE your taste in music! After I left a few comments, I checked out what other songs you had on there! LOVE it!
I think it was the initial shock of having the speakers on (they're normally off or on low). I got startled not because of the music, but because I wasn't expecting the volume on my speakers to be turned up high. I think Hubby may have been listening to some podcast or webinar or something and forgot to turn off the speakers. LOL!
PS. Saw 16 Candles and Pretty in Pink the other night and totally thought of you! We had a little movie theme night. I loved watching those movies when I was younger. I always thought Molly Ringwald was the coolest! LOL!
Hey, you know that fig spread would be perfect on? Bleu Cheese!!!! Come on, you know you wanna try it...
