My birthday morning - Cream Pan in Tustin + Hopper & Burr coffee in DTSA + Mexican fruit cup from vendor

Bert's bro was kind enough to let us stay in his pad overnight. TC and her cousin were able to catch up while we were crashed out...

My birthday morning was started at one of my favorite bakeries...

which is Cream Pan in Tustin, which you've seen in  many previous posts. They raised their prices slightly for their strawberry croissants. They used to be $1.40 and are now $1.60. Not so much but I don't remember the strawberry slices being so scant and thin. There are only two slices per croissant and that really isn't a lot. You are basically paying for the puff pastry and cream filling...

Salmon onigiri for the road...

Assorted stuff - rolled cake, stawberry croissant, almond croissant and a couple of hot dog breads.

We went back to Santa Ana for coffee. Hopper & Burr was on my list but it was already closed late afternoon yesterday, so here we were...

This coffee shop is located in a historic building in downtown Santa Ana (DTSA) and instead of a menu board or even a written menu, it is projected on wall...we could barely read what what offered but we knew we wanted something different.

The article linked at the end explains why their menu is paperless.

Sparse inside. Lots of light though! All of their equipment is underneath the counter so that there aren't any distractions (noted in article linked at end), focusing instead of customer interaction.

This was my choice, the  Litmus - Espresso, filter and cappuccino

While this was the Nico - Bert's choice...consisting of espresso, housemade orange simple syrup made from candied orange peels, cream and topped with cinnamon

Look at those layers, wow.   We liked that this was a relatively small drink. My Litmus was basically coffee three different ways. The cappuccino was the easiest to drink but I chased it with the espresso straight while Bert helped finished the filter. TC opted to not have any drinks this morning...

There too many posts for Cream Pan so I won't even both linking.

Before we left, TC picked up a bag of fresh fruit from a Mexican vendor near the coffee shop. Only $4 for the fresh mango with lime juice, Chamoy and Tajin.

Refreshing!

I, too, have stopped linking to Cream Pan posts. I just hope we aren't taking it for granted. This looks like a great start to your adventure.

We go almost every time we drive up. It is one of my favorite bakeries and always a treat to visit. One day I will finish my posts...
