and spend it with Bert and TC...

Now we could all go together to my new favorite breakfast place in OB...
which is Little Lion. The sun was out this time...

We were there right before they opened at 8 am.

House coffee (from Cafe Moto) for Bert. Look at that creamer vessel! So cute!

My Bitchin' Grandma cocktail - Sabe bourbon infused sake with Cafe Moto cold brew, vanilla and house made whip cream. It's a rarity for me to even get a cocktail, but I couldn't pass up bourbon and coffee. Plus the name of the drink alone, ha ha.

That housemade whip makes a big difference too. Eff that cool whip crap.
Our trio of drinks which included TC's chocolate PB smoothie, made with hemp milk (not a fan), agave, cocoa, PB and banana.

It was my third time here and this time I would order a pastry. You know...to go with our coffees. Behold, their chocolate croissant - layers of flaky and buttery puff pastry blanketing dark chocolate morsels. This went really fast between us three.

Our epic breakfast:

Bert's breakfast tacos (lentils, cauliflower, soyrizo, tomatillo guacamole and cashew cream). These were pretty damn good considering they were vegetarian. The soyrizo wasn't so bad to be honest. The tortillas tasted quite fresh and had a nice thickness but were still pliable. We ate these folded. They looked like they would be stiff like tostadas, but weren't.

TC's California Dreamin' sandwich - This was also a pretty healthy choice. The sandwich had aged spicy cheddar, shaved vegetables, roasted peppers, spinach, sprouts, avocado, white beans, tarragon aioli (very fresh and herbal!) and house made pickles. The ciabatta was light and airy.

My Green Dream salad - This had farro, kale, hemp seed, sprouts, crispy chickpeas, seasonal vegetables and green goddess dressing. I really liked the textured in this salad, although I wished that the hand torn pieces of the kale were smaller; the big pieces were not easy to eat. The crunch of the chickpeas was a nice touch.

I just realized that everything we had was vegetarian that morning.

There were sliced grapes in here too, adding a bit of sweetness to this salad.
A few steps away, near a corner hot dog stand was this class VW van.

Where's Spicoli?
Here he is:
Classic!
At the end of Point Loma Avenue was this dead end with a sign proclaiming, "Stairway closed".

There is a rather steep set of stairs which are now closed off. Maybe there was an accident or something which prompted this sign. It seemed pretty precarious; it was a good thing it was closed off too.

A short walk around the curve of Sunset Cliffs Blvd brings you here...

Don't stand too close to the edge folks! Don't want to watch you on the news!
Previous visit to Little Lion:
October 2017 - my second visit featuring Astroboi (this post links my first visit with the Educator GF's for TORC's birthday crawl)
It was really a pretty morning but we had to get back home. TC had loads of homework plus sports practice. Plus, I had more errands to do later that day. At least we were able to spend time as a family. Pretty soon, TC will be off to college and we won't be able to have moments like this too often (sniff sniff).

Three times now! It is just so good here. When you love it and it's vegetarian, that is just perfect. ( I think the croissant is made by Michelle Coulon).
I will probably wait until Spring when they change up their menu. Don't want to get "burned out", ha ha. But seriously, this is a quality place. Good to know about their pastries. It would make sense too since she is a skilled baker. The whole family is talented!
