Steelhead Coffee @ Steel Craft

After our drinks and snacks at The Merchant,

we headed over to our second coffee stop of the day...

Located here at Steelcraft, a collection of shipping containers put together to become a hipster food court of sorts.

There are three location for Steelhead, two in Long Beach and one in Laguna Hills.

They use beans from Ruby Coffee in Wisconsin as well aw 49th Parallel in Vancouver BC (the latter are the beans used by Bean Bar in San Diego)

They had a Tajima Ramen here, plus Smog City Brewery, a waffle, burger, pizza and shave ice place.

There's a lot of seating throughout and fake grass. They also have bathrooms here.

Bert and I had coffee - an iced lavender latte for me, a house coffee for Bert and some sort of pressed juice for TC. That juice turned out to be TEN FUCKING DOLLARS>

Refreshing since it was getting pretty hot already.

Not that busy during our visit but I can imagine it being pretty crowded at night or on weekend.

Interesting concept here.  I remember reading this article last year about a shipping container restaurant that will be coming to Imperial Beach...

Well so far, I haven't seen anything of that sort in IB just yet...
