Fall Festival Food

Last Friday was our daughter's school's Fall Festival...this is a fun family centered event with food sales, fame booths for the kids and various fund raisers for the school. Booths and games aside, we were also there for the food! This year, like in years past, there was a taquero!

Last year, Robsessed's husband got about 20+ at one time, holding up the line and pissing off everyone behind him. He also had a bunch of plates . This year, he was prepared. The first run through was earlier thisyear for some other school event. He brought a platter! Yes! We went through 2 platters of these (between four families and our kids)...

We staked out our normal spot in the outdoor dining courtyard and were ready with an extra platter (for round 2) and napkins (because they never give you enough), a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce, and wet wipes. These are carne asada tacos with all the fixings (except for the radishes). The tacos tasted so good with the meat chopped fresh off the grill. The guy was pretty generous with the guacamole too.
And because this was a "festival" atmosphere, the booths were selling all kinds of junk like Krispy Kreme donuts, Hot Dogs, Ceviche, Pizza Hut Pizza and these....Nachos with Jalapenos (canned though).
Here's that Pizza Hut pizza (Robsessed's):
Here was one of TC's snacks - the Kinder teachers were selling sliced apples with caramel sauce and peanuts. They had two types of apples - the Granny Smiths and Fuji's (or were they Galas?)...you know the big ones from Costco. They looked tempting but I don't like Granny Smith apples - too sour for me.
All this fattening food...but it was for a good cause. There goes my plan on losing a few pounds! Ha ha. All of the parents were hanging out at the dining benches while the kids were going from booth to booth trying to win prizes and such. They should sell lumpia next year. I bet they'd make a killing selling those!
