Chocolate Kouign Amann from b patisserie

Earlier this week, Bert saw in facebook that one of our friends was in San Francisco with his kids. There was a recent post featuring a photo of his kids with "mock scowls" and the caption, "Before the coffee and pastries at b. patisserie"....Then an "after" photo of them smiling...

All I heard was "b patisserie"!   I actually texted him right away and said, "OMG, you're there? You have try their kouign amann!"

Last stop - Tap Tap Boba

[Update - As of late 2015, Tap Tap Boba is now called VaniTea Cafe. Word to the wise, last year Tap Tap Boba stole a brick toast photo from Kirbie and used it on their Facebook and Instagram as well as a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupon. No permission and no apology, therefore, no more business from me. Shady.]

The kids had a busy morning/afternoon volunteering for a fundraiser at a fancy hotel. Although they were given a free catered lunch, we still wanted to treat them at the end of their day...

Tap Tap was on the way home so...

Stop 6 - Seafood City, the Last Stop

Our last stop was going to be here, one of my favorite markets, Seafood City.

(older photo from an older post that I can't find and link)

Mary hadn't been to this one and both Minxi and S were newbies to Seafood City...

Star Dust....for the nth time

It was well past the morning and in the early afternoon hours. We just had to see if Star Dust was open...

See the sign? That was earlier that morning, around 9 am. Closed.  But at 1 pm, it was a different story...

Babycakes Bake Shop, Imperial Beach

The other week, I saw that there was a new Babycakes bakery right across from the new Coronado Brewing Company..

Since we didn't go, I thought Bert and I could give it a try for our mini crawl...

Return to Coronado Brewing Company

Bert and I were pretty much recreating the food crawl from last week. Here is the view of the "Art" noodle sculpture at the very end of Imperial Beach Ave...

You can kind of see the letters before you make the right turn onto Seacoast Drive...

Return to Palapa Nayarit

With only a few tacos as "tasters", Bert and I walked over to nearby Palapa Nayarit...

I was curious to try their birria for comparison...

Golden Gate Park - Bison and Windmills

After our snack and drinks at Andytown, we headed out to get some fresh air and exercise.

Here was the lovely traffic we encountered as we headed north on the Great Highway...

Our next stop was beautiful Golden Gate Park...

Stop 5 - Oasis Ice Cream Parlor

In keeping the crawl "local", dessert was here, Oasis Ice Cream Parlor, a South Bay mainstay for over 30 years..

(photo from my "Return to Katy's Cafe and new flavors at Oasis" post, July 2014)

The flavors are not like any other you'll see at other mainstream places...

Mariscos Isaac 3x - My mini crawl with Bert

What? Another Mariscos Isaac post?  Why yes it is...

Bert and I went here this past weekend after dropping off TC and a friend for a volunteer service function closeby...

On our way back on Palm Ave, we stopped by Bobar 2's parking lot, bypassing the evil toothbrush wielding teddy bear...

A quick breather at the IB pier....

As seen at the side of Bibbey's Shell Shop...

which is on the other side of the street from the Coronado Brewing Company and just across the street from the pier...
