Torque Moto Cafe

A few days ago, MFH and I enjoyed our brunch at Dunedin (posted on 9/24 and linked here)...

followed by coffee at another Craftsman home conversion...

Like our brunch spot, Torque just turned or will about to turn one...

I'd been meaning to go here and since it was relatively close by (and also because I had a coupon), here we were...

The drinks menu is simple.  They also serve breakfast items which I'll have to explore for a future visit.

There is ample sitting both inside the space and in several adjoining rooms like this (featuring local artwork) as well as outside the front porch and patio.

It was nice that part of the patio was shaded.  A group of bikers had just finished their breakfast and were headed out.

From our corner table, the view of St. Patrick's Catholic Parish.  There was some sort of event happening (maybe a baptism) that morning.

Our drinks - MFH's latte and my macchiato.  Note the bike gears as decor for the table, very cool.

Right after I took this shot of MFH's drink, I photographed my drink on another table.  Almost immediately after I turned my back, a fly had skimmed over MFH's coffee and landed on the table, coffee-logged. When I came back, I wondered how the coffee was spilled and she told me what had happened.  Ewwwww!

Come to think of it, we should have asked for another latte to replace that one.  I ended up cleaning up the coffee that had splashed on the glass and getting rid of the fly (ugh, even though it was wrapped in a napkin, I could still feel it).

My macchiato was okay but not that great. The milk foam on top was the classic preparation but the espresso itself was not smooth.  As for her latte, MFH did drink it (despite the fly's suicide skip through the top) and thought it was just "okay" as well.  The lady working here was really nice and even brought our drinks out to us.

I still have an online coupon to use for a future visit; when I do go, it'll probably be for a breakfast item rather than coffee. At least there are a lot of coffee options in North Park, especially on 30th.
