It serves as a restaurant and coffee/book lounge, as well as the only roastery in downtown SLO...

and is named after a vibrant neighborhood in Berlin.
I really liked the art work on the walls and above the counter. It had a hipster vibe but had all kinds of people in there. Bert and I shared a blended mocha while TC got an Italian soda (forgot the flavor but it was most likely vanilla). Bert had coffee earlier that morning from our donut excursion at SLO Donut Company".

I liked that their food entrees were all named after famous authors.

We chose to enjoy our drinks on the outside patio which faces the street and also has a railing topped with various books for patrons to browse through and read.

No hot coffee that day since it was already pretty warm. Just refreshing icy drinks. If we are ever back in SLO, we will have to give their actual coffee drinks a try.

There were a few more hipster type coffee joints in SLO that I bookmarked on the Garmin, but for the sake of proximity, we went to this place since it was within walking distance.

Points for having a plethora of books and carrying the literary theme to their breakfasts, sandwiches and salads. Very clever.
It was time to put our gum to use!

Aw, I like that their sandwiches are named after authors, too. What a cool idea for a shop!
I liked it too. At least they put some thought into it.
