KyoChon Chicken - Cerritos

We are back to our regular scheduled programming of D and CC's food road trip.

After our brief foray into Little Saigon for Nem Nuong at Brodard's...

it was time to head up to the mall!

Both of us had never been to the Cerritos Mall before. We were here specifically because it was the closest place that had KyoChon Chicken! Yeah, that's right. I put in EVERY KyoChon location in my Garmin and that was how we planned our trip. Hmmm, closest place to our location? Let's go!

It was such a relief to be in an air conditioned place. It was about 80+ that day. Couple that with driving in a car for long stretches of time. It felt so good to feel that AC. Located in their food court, we quickly found KyoChon Chicken and perused their menu.

We got one order of their Signature Wings (garlic/soy marinade)...

Plus one order of their Honey Wings...

This was a drummette sample of their Signature Wings. The marinade was so flavorful and the skin so nice, sticky, and crispy.

The honey chicken pieces were much bigger than the signature wings. There was also one less piece and it was more expensive. We each had one. I loved the sweetness of the crispy skin.

The signature wings were amazing. They are like crack. The smell was also mouthwatering. If you enjoy garlic anything, you would love these wings. The wing pieces were smaller than the honey wings but more flavorful.

That's my piece with the bite in it. Well, actually both pieces were mine. OMFG, this was sooo addictingly amazing!

D and I had about two pieces each and saved the rest for Bert and TC (remember we had a cooler in the trunk). It would have been cool to stick around and shop the mall but shit, we still had a few other places to hit up. Time to hit the road again!

Who else had KyoChon Chicken?

The Gastronomer went back in 2008 to the Koreatown location
Kirk from Mmm-Yoso went to the Rowland Heights location in 2009
Kirbie went recently this summer to the same location, Cerritos (That post also has a link to her first visit)

Up next...L.A.!

OMG I love fried chicken wings (Korean or any other style otherwise) although I still haven't had KyoChon's.

Yay, so glad you liked the wings! They are crazy good aren't they? I think almost good enough for me to drive to Cerritos just for the wings. I hope they open one in SD soon.
